Shirley A. Patten passed away after a brief illness at Tendercare of Ludington on August 1, 2014. She was born on October 1, 1933 the daughter of the late Edwin N. and Ethel M. (Deathrige) Sibley in Riverton Township, Mason County, MI. She attended Morton School and graduated eighth grade from there. Shirley worked at Pentwater Wire and the Star Watch Case before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Cyrus Patten at Johnny’s of Custer, where she was skating. They were married on April 28, 1954 and lived happily together for 59 years. Shirley is survived by her beloved husband Cyrus Patten; daughter Linda May Patten (Thomas A. Smith); son Gary Lee Patten; grandchildren Crystal Siegler, Joshua Siegler, Kellie Lee (Bonnie) Siegler, Dusty May (Doug) Siegler, Joey (Katosha) Smith, Stephanie Brent; great-grandchildren James Dale Williams Jr. and Annaliece Shelby Wilkes, Kylie Ann, Kaiden Lee, Caleb Joshua Siegler and Gunner Nickson, Luke Douglas Burns, Christopher, Devin and Ronnie Norling, Dezare, Jazmin, Izaiah Smith; brother Edwin M. (Harriett) Sibley and numerous other nieces, nephews, and numerous other brother and sister-in-laws. She is preceded in death by her parents. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date with details to be announced.
